不实报导导致Google暂时不第三季度财报结果发布::[View]

SAN FRANCISCO: Google, the No. 1 Web search company that recently went public and said it will not issue financial forecasts, expects to add 372,050 advertiser accounts by 2008, the San Francisco Chronicle reported on Wednesday.
The newspaper, citing internal company documents, said Google predicts its advertiser base will grow by more than 130 per cent, from 280,000 in 2004 to 652,050 in 2008.
Mountain View, California-based Google gets about 98 per cent of its revenue from Web search advertising, a booming and lucrative new market segment that is seen slowing in coming years as it matures. Company spokesmen did not immediately respond to calls and e-mails seeking comment.
Google, which is set to report quarterly financial results for the first time as a public company on Thursday, competes most directly with Yahoo Inc. and its Overture Services unit that pioneered Web search advertising.
Google said in September it had more than 150,000 advertisers participating in its AdWords program.
"I don't see how they can live without having some degree of financial guidance," Janco Partners senior analyst Martin Pyykkonen told Reuters in a telephone interview.

据悉，《旧金山纪事报》此前曾引用Google的一份内部资料称，Google在未来四年内的广告用户将从今年的28万增至2008年的65.205万，涨幅高达130%。
但Google随后在一份声明中表示：“我们认为，媒体的报道是不准确的。”由于该报道恰逢Google正式发布上市后的第一份财报的前一天，因此有分析人士和投资者对Google不发表财务预测的作法感到担心和忧虑。
Google公司98%的利润来源于互联网广告收入。但随著该市场的成熟，最初的迅猛增长势头开始逐渐放缓。目前，Google在互联网广告市场的主要竞争对手是雅虎及其Overture服务公司，后者在互联网广告搜索方面处于领先地位。
对于Google不发布财务预测，Janco Partners高级分析师Martin Pyykkonen表示：“没有一定的财务预测做指导，企业是很难进一步发展的。”但Pyykkonen同时承认，搜索广告业务的发展趋势的确很难预测，因为只要当用户点击广告客户的广告时，Google才能收获相关费用。
同时，Google今日还修复了存在于公司刚刚发布的桌面搜索服务中的一个安全漏洞。业内安全人士表示，该漏洞允许用户在网页的图片中插入一个“Java脚本”。这样，入侵者就可以随意改变Google的网页，要骗取用户的信用卡等重要资料。
